We are looking for dedicated, passionate, and enthusiastic Senior Social Workers to join our Children’s Assessment and Safeguarding Team (CAST) and our Children in Care Team (CIC). As one of the more senior and experienced members of the team, your role will be varied and challenging:
n Manage complex cases, ensuring that the welfare of the child or young person is paramount
n Carry out assessments and manage child care plans
n Ensure that children, young people, and their families are fully involved in the assessment process
n Ensure that service user records are maintained in accordance with departmental procedures
n Be responsible for the allocation of tasks to team members as appropriate, providing necessary support and guidance necessary for the completion of those tasks
n Provide mentoring and support to others and support group supervision as required
n Provide support and cover to the Team Manager and/or Principal Manager
n Participate in the performance management system including supervision, PAR, team meetings, section and divisional briefings and reviews of service
n Commit to developing skills through work experience in a range of divisional situations i.e., routine secondments, job rotation and shadowing
n Take responsibility under the direction of the Principal / Practice Manager for the support of social work students on placement and act as workplace supervisor / Practice Teacher if appropriate
Suitable candidates will possess the following knowledge, qualifications, and experience:
n Social Work qualification – Social Work degree, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent
n Social Work registration and re-registration requirements
n Minimum 2 years post qualifying experience in direct work with vulnerable children and their families
n Ability to work within Post Qualifying standards
n Have undertaken NAAS or willingness to complete within 6 months
n High standards of integrity, honesty, fairness, and equality
n Ability to fully meet the requirements of the post and cover the geographical area required
n Ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence through the medium of English
n Ability/willingness to take on either higher degree of capability or specific pay grade
n Proven ability to be resilience in working in a challenging environment
