There now exists the opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and talented planning professional with the right skills and personality to join and lead our planning and regulatory team help take us and the city into a bright new future. This is an exciting time to join Coventry City Council at a point where the successful applicant will help shape this dynamic period for Coventry and join what is a top performing and forward-thinking planning department. As our Deputy Director you will lead the Council’s planning and regulatory service developing the Council’s strategic approach to city planning services, building control, environmental regulation and private rented sector regulation, alongside contributing to the development of corporate policy and implementation of strategies.

We have had great success already and made great strides in changing the way we deliver services and in the way we work with colleagues. We have brought in a new flexible approach to working – giving staff the power, skills and tools to work from the best place at the best time to get the job done. We have a new Customer Service Centre, more online services for residents, a new Council office building, and a city that is changing to meet a new age of driverless cars and superfast broadband.
